Can I Have a Protein Shake for Breakfast?
Breakfast; to many it’s the most important meal of the day. We’re believers in eating a varied, balanced diet and always like to start our mornings with something hearty, that’ll provide good nutritional value and enough energy to power us through our to do lists – be that a big bowl of protein oats or avocado and eggs.
However, we also know exactly how hard this is when you have a hectic lifestyle. Finding time to make breakfast, especially before a long commute or after a workout, is no easy feat.
We're often asked whether a protein shake is a good replacement for breakfast. Usually, we'd advocate to use a shake as a supplement, opting for something more energy dense at mealtimes. However when you're too busy to stop and eat, a protein shake will be much better than grabbing a pastry or biscuit on the go or even skipping breakfast entirely. If possible, try to switch this for an on-the-go smoothie with fruit and/or veg so that you’re getting plenty of nutrients, and therefore energy! This will also keep you feeling for fuller, so you don’t find yourself making a desperate mid-morning dash to corner shop...
