Essential Holiday Packing for Fitness Fanatics
For those lucky enough to be escaping the UK after lockdown for some much needed summer sunshine, it can feel good to keep hold of some form of exercise routine whilst away. The key is making it work for you; so maybe that’s a beach-side workout, a jog around town to explore your surroundings, or smashing out a hotel room workout before you kick back by the pool. Whatever you choose, this handy packing list will make sure you can keep up your fitness game when you’re out of town, without needing to bring half the gym in your suitcase...
Gym Kit and Trainers
It might be obvious, but this one tip is pretty essential! If you want to stay fit on holiday, you need to have the gear. If you only pack one pair of winter leggings and a single sports top, you’re unlikely to be keen to get active. Make sure you’ve packed trainers and a couple of appropriate gym outfits so that you have no easy excuses when your motivation wavers…
Resistance band
Small but mighty, this tiny piece of gym equipment won’t fill up your suitcase but will pack a punch! Active your glutes before a quick run around town or do a quick leg-burning circuit in your hotel room. Don’t underestimate the power of utilising your own bodyweight! Healthy Snacks
Keep yourself fuelled with the best no matter where you are in the world. Whether that’s with a quick protein shake (more on that below!), or even some snacks you’ve packed in your suitcase. Travel-friendly eats such as bars or homemade protein balls (like our simple PB & choc chip recipe), are great to have on hand for when hunger strikes.
Skipping rope
Sometimes getting in a quick 15-20-minute workout in the morning before hitting the breakfast buffet is exactly what you need. Having a skipping rope at hand means it’s super easy to do exactly that. Keep it simple; skip for 40 seconds, rest for 20 and repeat until you’re feeling the heat!
Fitness tracker
Staying active on holiday doesn’t mean you need to sweat it out at the hotel gym (read: stay active without working out). Absorb some of the local culture with a wander around the backstreet’s in town, hike up a hill for the best view of the sunset, or explore further afield by bike. A fitness tracker or watch is great way to check in on your activity levels throughout the week, as it will give you a friendly reminder when it’s time to jump of the sun lounger and into the pool!
Neat Nutrition Protein Sachets
Our handy, 30g single-serve sachets were designed with your busy lifestyle in mind. No matter how busy your travel schedule, or wherever you are in the world, we’re here to keep you fuelled with the best. Pop your favourite whey or vegan protein sachets and a Neat shaker in your suitcase to start the day well, refuel post-workout or to keep satiated in between meals.
