Team Neat at Soho Farmhouse
Last Saturday, Team Neat swapped the hustle and bustle of the city for some country air, heading to Oxfordshire for a wellness day at Soho Farmhouse.
Instead of our usual shake bar, we took over an old school milk float, serving out our bright pink Strawberry Paradise shakes and Choca Mocha’s for those that needed a caffeine hit after their very sweaty spin class.
Once our smoothie bar had quite literally been drank dry, we headed over to the beautiful cookhouse (talk about serious kitchen goals!) to start our cooking with protein demo. Lee & Charlie kicked things off, introducing everyone to Neat Nutrition and giving a little background about what we do.
Then it was time to get cooking! Catty and Kathryn started with a peanut butter and chocolate protein ball, which turned into a very sticky situation with an overly generous splash of milk! Luckily, the situation was quickly turned around with a few extra oats thanks to Catty, and they tasted delicious – showing just how hard it is to ruin a protein ball! In true blue peter style we also brought out some we'd made earlier - the cookie dough, apple pie and lemon and coconut bites from our blog - to give our group the ultimate taste test; with the cookie dough protein balls coming out on top!
Of course, we couldn't do a cooking demo without some of our shakes, so we showed the members how to make our new Strawberry Paradise and Choca Mocha shakes with both whey and vegan protein, before moving on to the star of the show - the blinis! We made our fail-safe protein pancake recipe into bite-sized blinis; one half topped with yogurt, Soho Farmhouse's very own smoked salmon and fresh dill and the other half was to satisfy those sweet tooth’s with yogurt, home-grown berries and a drizzle of honey.
They really went down a storm and certainly got gobbled up quickly (although admittedly a couple disappeared between the team!). Although they look a little fancy, they were super quick to make and would definitely be awesome for healthy canapes or snacks at your next dinner party.
Before we knew it our demo was over and the food was eaten, so it was time to stop chatting and head back to London. We had such a great day and we absolutely loved busting some protein myths (like protein powder being just for bulky bodybuilders) and chatting to people about how they can make healthier choices to suit their lifestyles.
