The Best Cacao Protein Waffles
PROTEIN CACOA WAFFLES
Here at Neat HQ, we love breakfast. It’s the most important meal and sets you up for the day. We’re a fan of porridge, eggs and a smoothie if you’re on the run. But there’s something about taking your time and making something that seems decedent but is actually healthy and nutritious. We give you, the protein waffle!
Full of energy to keep you satiated until lunchtime, these cacao protein waffles are delicious and give you that chocolate hit without over indulging (of course you can leave out the cacao if you'd rather).
METHOD:
As with most of our recipes, this one actually looks like it takes more time than it does. First, preheat your waffle iron, then simply pop everything in a bowl and mix. Once your waffle iron reaches temperature, spoon in your mixture and close. Be careful not to forget about the task at hand - more than once we’ve gotten engrossed in our instagram feed and forgotten the waffles!
Once they’re cooked to perfection (they’ll be a little crispy on the outside but spongy in the middle – probably around 4 minutes), remove the waffles and plate up. Now it’s all on you! Add your toppings but keep them clean – for the waffles pictured we chose 0% Greek Yoghurt, chopped hazelnuts, some almond butter and then a few dark chocolate chips for a treat.
Go crazy! Dream up some yummy toppings and be sure to tag us when you post to Instagram or Twitter – we love seeing your creations!
