Choc Chip Rice Krispie Bars

Rice Krispy Squares were a favourite childhood treat for many. We're handing over to health and fitness blogger, Molly Buszard, who has given the classic after-school sweet snack a nutritious upgrade, using all-natural ingredients and added protein - but don't worry, they're still just as delicious!

Choc Chip Rice Krispy Bars Recipe | Neat Nutrition. Clean, Simple, No-Nonsense Protein.

METHOD:

First, line a square tin with parchment paper, ready to add the mixture in.

In a large mixing bowl add the salt, puffed rice and protein powder. Next, heat the maple syrup, nut butter and coconut oil in a pan. Once simmering, mix well and take off the heat.

Pour the liquid mixture into the rice and protein powder and mix until all is combined. Leave to cool for a little bit, then add the chocolate chips to avoid them melting.

Pour into your tin and press down so that the crispies hold their shape. If you want them thicker, squidge the mixture up so it only uses half the tin and press down with a spatula.

Pop the tin into the freezer for 30 minutes, before removing from the tin and cutting into squares. Store in the fridge in an airtight container.
