Ultimate Chocolate Protein Oats (Vegan)
Protein powder doesn't have to just be used in post-workout shakes - it's so much more versatile than that! Here, we've used it to bump up the protein content and flavour of our favourite morning bowl of oats...
METHOD:
Combine the oats, cocoa powder, milk, salt and sweetener in a saucepan. Bring to a boil before reducing the heat to a low temperature.
Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat and stir through the chocolate chips and protein powder. You may want to add a dash more milk to get your preferred consistency.
Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite toppings!
INGREDIENTS:
(Serves 1)
- 50-60g oats
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup milk - we like Rude Health hazelnut or almond milk
- 1 serving Neat Nutrition Chocolate Protein (whey or plant)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or alt. sweetener of choice
- Chopped dark cacoa nibs
- Pinch of salt
- Toppings of your choice: fruit, yoghurt.
